Dr. Somya Ish trained at two of Delhi’s busiest government hospitals: MBBS at Safdarjung Hospital and MS in Ophthalmology at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, where she went on to serve as a Senior Resident with special training in medical and surgical retina. She has performed more than 3,000 eye surgeries.

How do I book an appointment?

Where is Theia Eye Care Clinic?
We are on the 1st floor of K no. 773, Harcharan Bagh, near Sector A, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi 110070. Patients also visit us from Mehrauli, Chhatarpur, Kishangarh, Rangpuri, Mahipalpur and Vasant Vihar.
Who will examine me?
Every patient at Theia is seen by Dr. Somya Ish, MS (Ophthalmology), DNB, an eye surgeon with specialist training in retina who has performed more than 3,000 eye surgeries.
Where is surgery performed?
Consultations and follow-up are at Theia. Surgery is performed by Dr. Somya at a partner hospital such as Eye Veda, Synergy Eye Care or Fortis Hospital. She will explain the options for your procedure.
Should my eyes be dilated, and can I drive afterwards?
Many eye check-ups, including retina and diabetic eye examinations, need dilating drops. These blur near vision and cause glare for a few hours, so please don’t drive yourself home after a dilated exam. Bring sunglasses if you can.
How often should someone with diabetes get their eyes checked?
Usually at least once a year, or more often if your doctor advises it. Diabetic retinopathy often has no early symptoms, so regular examinations are the best way to catch it in time.
Do you offer spectacles and family discounts?
Yes. You can order prescription spectacles at our in-clinic optical counter, and we offer family discounts on eye examinations. Ask us on WhatsApp for details.
